Died at the residence of her son, David P. Lynch, in Martinsburg, Ills., March 8, 1900, at 5 o'clock p.m., Mrs. Jane Harlow, from a complication of afflictions due to old age. She was born Jan. 13, 1812, in St. Charles county, Mo. Her maiden name was Crow. She was married in the same place where born and raised to David Lynch in 1830. To them were born eight children, five deceased. The three surviving are David P. Lynch, of Martinsburg; William C. Lynch, of Curden, Kan., and John R. Lynch, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Her husband, David Lynch, died June, 1852, and deceased moved to this place with her four sons in November, 1852. In 1855 she was married to Nathaniel Harlow. The latter died Aug. 1875. She joined the Methodist church at the age of 18 years, and in 1855 she united with the Missionary Baptist church at Martinsburg and continued a faithful, consistent and devoted member up to her demise; an industrious, affectionate wife and devoted mother. She has been blessed for a number of years with the kind and tender care of her son David and wife who were at her bedside in the last hour.
Her funeral was preached at the Baptist church at 11 a. m., March 10, by Rev. Stoddard to a good audience and was followed by a large number of relatives, neighbors, sorrowing and sympathetic friends to the Burbridge cemetery.
