Florene Owens, 92 of Cabot was born February 22, 1920 in Solgohacia, Arkansas and passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband Eugene Owens as well as two children, Rutha May Winters and Carl Dee Owens.

She is survived by her children Anna Dale Gilmore of Cabot, Norma Gene Peterson (Pete) of Iowa and William Owens (Kay) of Cabot and also 19 grand children, 27 great grand children and 16 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Owen was the oldest living member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cabot and was a member of the Eastern Star and the Jacksonville Community Center. She was a lover of animals often sharing her home with any stray animal she came across. She enjoyed watching animal planet, shopping at Wal-Mart and doing arts and crafts. She was known for her sewing, knitting and costume making for which she won numerous awards and ribbons.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cabot with visitation held at 10:30 AM Saturday one hour prior to the service.
