GLOUCESTER POINT - Clarice Craig Bunting Williams, 97, of Hayes, VA, passed away peacefully in her home on January 4, 2013, surrounded by her loving children and family members. She was a lifelong member of Union Baptist Church of Achilles, VA, and was the church's oldest member. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who frequently expressed her gratitude for the blessings of a wonderful childhood, a happy married life, and a satisfying retirement. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years Stanley E. Williams, her parents Solomon Dixie and Margaret Rowe Bunting, and daughter Betty C. Valentine. She is survived by daughter Carolyn Craig W. Starnes and husband John, son Edward Hamilton Williams and wife Lucy, and son Jon Douglas Williams and fiancee Mary Lou Skinner; son-in-law, Gary Wayne Barncord; grandchildren, Dr. B. Alden Starnes and wife Mary, Amy W. Boykin and husband Mark, Sarah W. Haywood and husband Douglas, and Michael Todd Barncord and wife Samantha; five great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, and special foster daughter Jennileigh Wilhelm. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 6th at the funeral home from 7pm to 8pm. A service to celebrate her life was held at Union Baptist Church, Achilles on Monday, January 7th at 2pm, officiated by Pastor Richard Whiteheart, with burial followed in Gloucester Point Memorial Cemetery.
