ULYSSES HAYNER DIES IN PITTSTOWN
Prominent Farmer and Insurance Director Succumbs of Long Illness.
Ulysses Grant Hayner, prominent Town of Pittstown farmer and director of the Pittstown Cooperative Fire Insurance Co., died this morning at his residence in the Melrose-Valley Falls Road after a long illness. He was 78 years of age.
Mr. Hayner was born in Cooksboro and had spent his entire life in the Town of Pittstown. He was a member of Valley Falls Methodist Church and the Board of Trustees for many years.
Mr. Hayner had been a member of Victor Lodge, No. 680, F. and A. M., of Schaghticoke for more than fifty years. He also was an active member of Melrose Grange.
The survivors are two sons, Elton B. Hayner of Buskirk and Ivan G. Hayner of Schaghticoke.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence, Rev. Paul Thomas, pastor of the Valley Falls Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke."
