Mrs. Carl Behnke, 75, passed away at her home in the town of Rockland, and
burial took place from the Lutheran church at Reedsville, Tuesday afternoon.
She was a member of that congregation for more than fifty years.
The maiden name of the deceased was Henrietta Seehafer and she was born at
Westpreusen, Germany in 1854. She came to America with her parents in 1873
and was married the same year to Carl Behnke. She is survived by three sons,
Adolph, Albert and Rudolph, two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Wuensch, and Mrs.
Reinhart Bessert. All are residents of Rockland. There are also five brothers,
Gottlieb, Albert, Fred and August Seehafer, all of Marshfield and Julius of
Milwaukee and one sister, Mrs. August Rusch of Reedsville.
