The three sons migrated to southwestern Virginia, settling in Halifax County (Created in 1752) along the North Carolina border. Later their residence became Pittsylvania County, when Pittsylvania was carved from Halifax in 1767. In 1767,
Pittsylvania County had a population of 938 whites, 316 slaves.
Meshack married his second wife Rebecca Roberson (ROBERTSON) on 6 Feb. 1760 (date of Marriage Bond) in Halifax County, Va. They had eight children.
In 1785 Meshack and Rebecca moved to Wilkes County, Ga.. Meshack would have been age 60.
He was a Revolutionary War Patriot.
