(Monahan) Klosterman [Cumberland] CUMBERLAND — Mary Florence (Monahan) Klosterman, 87, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Country House Residence.
Born April 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John Monahan and Lula Fazenbaker Monahan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Klosterman Sr.; brothers, William Monahan and Joseph Monahan; sisters Gladys Hom, Charlotte Cessnick and Helen Bonnella.
Mrs. Klosterman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, tennis and golf. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother.
Surviving are her daughters, Dawna Lee Merkel and husband Patrick, Cumberland, Debra Anne Vinci and husband Steven, Cumberland, Carol Sue Klosterman and friend J. Kirk, Woodbridge, Va; two sons, James E. Klosterman Jr. and wife Theresa, Jacksonville, Fla. and John F. Klosterman, Cumberland; nine grandchildren, Karen Kregline and husband Larry, Pennsylvania, Michael Merkel and wife Julie, Cumberland, Julie Buckbee and husband Todd, Cumberland, Kimberly Kirkconnell and husband Darrell, Georgia, Trena Densmore and husband J.D., Florida, Jeremiah Klosterman and wife Stephanie, Florida, Greg Klosterman and wife Samantha, Frederick, Charmaine Klosterman, Colorado, Brandon Monahan and wife Lisa, LaVale; brothers, Dave Monahan, Oakland and Paul Monahan and wife Gladys, Baltimore; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland scarpellifuneralhomes.com on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 6:15 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Ty Hullinger as Celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Country House and the Home Hospice.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials take the form of donations to the WMHS Hospice Unit.
