John Andrew Shirkey, 81, of 59 Maple Lane, St. Albans, died Wednesday in Thomas Memorial Hospital. He was a three-year resident of St. Albans and was a former resident of Fayetteville, retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Co., and was a member of the Sam Black United Methodist Church.
Surviving: wife, Lillie; daughter, Mrs. Betsy Ferrell of St. Albans; sisters, Mrs. Nell McKinsey of Beckley, Mrs. Myrtle McClung of Crawley, Mrs. Mary Drumheiller of Virginia Beach, Va., Mrs. Lucy Carr of Dorset, Ohio, Mrs. Kathleen Tuttle of Staunton, Va.; brother, Jimmy Shirkey of St. Albans; 1 grandchild; one great-grandchild.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Sam Black United Methodist Church, Greenbrier, Snead officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. Friends may call at Casdorph-Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans, from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
