Mrs. Anna W. Keller, 83, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Menno Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, following a brief illness.

Anna was born September 5, 1921, in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Maurice Mentzer and Martha (Sollenberger) Mentzer. She spent her early life in the Letterkenny area.

Mrs. Keller attended Chambersburg schools.

She and her husband, Josie J. Keller, were married May 15, 1941, in Chambersburg. They lived on the farm in Marion from the time they were married until 1951 when they moved to the farm on Tick Ridge Road, Waynesboro, where she lived until 1998. She lived at her present address for the last seven years. Her husband died April 19, 1994.

In her early years she worked for the former Stanley Company, Chambersburg, from 1941 to 1945. She also worked on the family farm at both Marion and Waynesboro.

Anna was a member of Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Bible Release Time teacher, and as a member of the sewing circle. She also volunteered for Camp Joy-El, and was a member of AARP and participated in a seniors bowling league.

In the early 1950s, she and her husband hosted German foreign exchange students and in the mid-1960s they hosted a country farm breakfast for the Prime Minister of Iran.

She enjoyed board games, gardening and bus trips.

Mrs. Keller is survived by two sons, John A. Keller and Roy L. Keller, both of Waynesboro; a daughter, Brenda F. Fleagle, Waynesboro; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; eight sisters, Susan Witmer of Doylesburg, Fannie Diller of Apopka, Fla., Mary Wenger of Grantham, Alma Hock of Shippensburg, Kathryn Frey of Chambersburg, Marian Frey of Chambersburg, Lois Kipe of Waynesboro, and Sara Diller of Dunnelan, Fla.; two brothers, Benjamin Mentzer, Duncannon, and J. Allen Mentzer, Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Jean Bonebrake.

Burial in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
