Farewell dear grandpa thou art gone,
Your Savior smiled and bid you come,
Bright angels beckoned you away,
To dwell with him in endless day.

Grandma why do you weep
For he has only gone
He has crossed the silent river
And he did not fear it gloom.

Children dear oh cease your weeping.
For your father gone before.
Only try in Heaven to meet him,
On that bright celestial shore.

He is with the angels, singing,
Far above the clouded sky,
Where the golden harps are ringing
Where they never say good-bye.

And now farewell dear grandpa,
Tis hard to part with thee,
But at the pearly gates I know
Blest one you'll wait for me.--By his grand daughter, Armeda Phillips
