Funeral services were held for Dora Kay Vanderpool, 82, on Friday, June 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville. Brother Donnie Kelly officiated, with interment in the Whorton Springs Cemetery. She died on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at Baptist DeKalb Hospital. A resident of Smithville, Mrs. Vanderpool was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Smithville Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Algie Lee Vanderpool; her parents, Silas and Della Harris LeFevre; and by her stepmother, Mattie LeFevre. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Wayne and Brenda Vanderpool of Smithville, Lorraine Webb of Donelson, Wanda and Ray Dunham of Alexandria and Rodney and Phyllis Vanderpool of Centertown; and by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Fern Webb of Smithville and Peggy Kutz of California; and by four sisters-in-law, Lena Vanderpool of Smithville and Eva Mae LeFevre, Eleanor LeFevre and Elanor LeFevre, all of Atlanta. Pallbearers were Reed and Timothy Vanderpool, James Webb, Phillip Wallace, James Tindall and George LeFevre. DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
