Tanya L. Kemp, 59, passed away unexpectedly at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Hicksville, Ohio on December 19, 1953 to Clyde Hershel Martin and Sharon L. (Carter) Martin-Planck. Her father precedes her in death. Tanya graduated from Blackford High School in 1971 and graduated from Ivy Tech in 1976. She married Steven Lee Kemp on April 7, 1973 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Tanya formerly worked for Muncie Imports, Knapp Supply and E & B Paving. She enjoyed reading, watching T.V. especially the Sci-Fi Channel. Tanya will be sadly missed by her husband, Steven Lee Kemp of Hartford City; son, Aiden Lee Kemp of Hartford City; grandchildren, Keyton Coleman, Jai Valentine, Hannah Hawkins, Jazynn Kemp; mother, Sharron L. (husband, Pete) Martin-Planck of Grant County; sister, Cristie A. (husband, Rock) Tighe of Hartford City; brother, Dale W. Martin of Hartford City; mother-in-law, Mary M. Kemp of Hartford City; sister-in-laws, Carol (husband, Randy) Neff; Traci Kemp; brother-in-laws, John (wife, Dot) Kemp; Mike (wife, Teresa) Kemp all of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, her son, Hagen Lee Kemp and sister, Kathy L. Walter. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City with Rev. Bobby Thomas of Full Gospel Tabernacle Lighthouse Church officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.
