Robert "Bob" Pool, 83, passed away after a brave battle with cancer February 17, 2013, in Visalia, California. He was born February 18, 1929, in Fresno, the son of Robert and Ethel Pool. Bob graduated from Visalia High School, class of 1947. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army. Bob returned home to marry Alamae Lane, and they settled in Visalia. They happily raised four children. Bob was employed by Pacific Bell for 31 years, of which he was well known for riding horseback through the high Sierras and climbing treetops to reconnect phone lines after the winter snow had subsided. Post Pacific Bell, Bob was employed by KRC Safety Company. Bob was a loyal member of the Moose Lodge 546 of Visalia, the Goshen Mounted Police and was a Board Member of the Sierra Golf Men's Club. Bob will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity and love of family. Bob is preceded in death by his wife Alamae and daughter Robyn Ziessler; and is survived by his son, Jeff Pool and his wife, Kathleen of Visalia; daughters, Dee Dee Rains and her husband, John of Visalia, Linda Lindsey and her significant other Dave Williams of Avila Beach; 9 grand-children: Brian Lucas, Tiffany Meeks, Taryn Krenz, Nicole Kowalzyk, Melissa Taylor, Cory Lindsey, Carlon Lindsey, Emilee Pool and Camee Pool; and 10 great-grandchildren. A service of remembrance will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Visalia Municipal Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia, CA. The family would like to thank Park Visalia, KDDH 3 South and TCS - Court Street for their outstanding compassion and loving care. Arrangements by Miller Memorial Chapel.
