Robert “Bud” W. Schrader, 93, passed away on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen. Graveside committal services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Hillside Cemetery, Ogema. Rev. Daryn Bahn officiated and military rites were conducted.

Robert was born on Jan. 7, 1926 in Gagen to Frank and Hilda Mae (Schrader) Hettler. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II from July 20, 1944 until his honorable discharge on June 14, 1945. He received the Purple Heart.
In his early years, Bud had farmed and later he was a long time over the road truck driver until his retirement. He married Doris J. Carlson on Nov. 6, 1954 in Ogema and she preceded him in death on May 19, 2001.

Bud is survived by a son, Douglas Schrader; two daughters, Bonita (Duane Huth) Jensen and Joy (Bill) Holubets; seven grandchildren, Josh (Heather) Schrader, April (Tim) Gotzler, Troy (Mary) Jensen, Amber (Seyha) Kry, Ernie (Kora Serrana) Jensen, Bailey (Marcus Stieber) Holubets and Brianna (Andrew Polnaszek) Holubets; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a stepsister, Doris Klemetson; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Hettler.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; a granddaughter, Jennalee Schrader; and brothers, Ray Schader, Lynn Hettler, Warren Stanley and Larry Hettler.
