GREENSBORO - Mrs. Dorothy Ann Calhoun Lloyd, 86, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, February 28, 2011, at 6:30 am at Brookdale Senior Living of Greensboro. She had been a resident there due to declining health for the past 6 years.

A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Greenhill Cemetery, with Pastor Ottis Collins officiating and Olivia Jarrell, soloist.

A native of Guilford County, Mrs. Lloyd was formerly employed with Kings Department Store for many years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and an unbelievable cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Lloyd; parents, Bernard H. and Alma Calhoun; and brothers, Charles and Jack Calhoun.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Charles E. and his wife Becky of Sophia and Gary C. and his wife Kathy of Greensboro; sister, Lois C. Cheek of Greensboro; grandchildren, Lisa Baynes and husband Dan of Colfax, Christy Wert and her husband Dr. Michael of Greensboro, Jennifer Quakenbush and her husband Kevin of Pleasant Garden, and Lucas Lloyd of Greensboro; and great-grandchildren, Melinda and Christopher Fulk and Oakley Quakenbush and Dylan Wert.
