Miner Cecil Douglas, 68, of Bancroft, Putnum County, died Friday in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a long illness.
He was a retired construction worker.
Surviving: wife, Hattie; daughters, Mrs. Arbutus Parsons of Black Betsy, Miss Janet Douglas and Mrs. Norma Spencer, both of Nitro; sons, Cecil and Donald, both of Wapakoneta, ohio, Keith of Alger, Ohio, Park and Franklin, both of Nitro, Archie of Red House; sisters, Mrs. Ina Smith of Florida, Mrs. Ruth Phillips of Charleston, Mrs Wavie Mann of South Charleston; half sisters, Mrs. Gathie Thomas of liberty, Mrs Audrey Morris of Charleston; brothers, Henry of Dunbar, dennis J. of St. Albans, Farley of Charleston; half brothers, Albert of Poca, Charley of Parkersburg; 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Sunday in Gatens Funeral home, Poca, with Rev. Paul Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Barnett Chapel Cemetery, Route 1, Liberty. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
