Graveside services for Lorene Ferguson Roberts, 79, of the Beulah Community, will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at 12:00 noon. in the Renfro Cemetery with Brother Bobby Ryan officiating.
Mrs. Roberts was born February 14, 1930, in Towns County, Georgia, to the late Rhoda (Barrett) and Andrew Ferguson. She passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009, in a local hospital. Mrs. Roberts moved to the Beulah Community of Angelina County in 1993 to be near her daughter and family. She was a member of the Salvation Army Home League. She loved to garden and feed her guineas. Her great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Lester Fairchild; grandsons, Patrick Fairchild and wife Kim, and Jerry Haubert; great grandchildren, Dustin, Dakota, Cody and Shyann; as well as four brothers, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Georgia.
Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rhubin (Doodle) Thomas; and brother, Wade Ferguson.
Pallbearers will be Lester Fairchild, Patrick Fairchild, Dustin Fairchild, Eldon Fuller, John O'Connor and Jeff Baird. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Carroway Funeral Home, Lufkin, directors
