Marjorie C. Rambo Byrd of Frederick passed away February 27, 2013, at the home of her daughter Janice Roberson surrounded by her family. Born Feb. 3, 1925 in Shady Valley Tenn. To the late Isaacs & Isabelle Johnson Rambo. She was the wife of the late Ernest Byrd who passed away Nov. 1964. Marjorie retired from National Geographic Society in 1980. She was a active member of Dawsonville Mennonite Church . Marjorie loved spending time with her family and friends she loved to read and to travel, doing cross word puzzles and never lost her thirst for learning.

Surviving are her eight loving children Jeanette Michelsen of Harker Heights Tx. Virginia Beitzel of Boyds, Md. Sandra Sermon & husband Bill of Monticello In. LeRoy Byrd of Hagerstown, Md. Donna Righter and husband Wayne of Derwood, Md. Bonnie Miller of Frederick, Md. Janice Roberson and husband Wayne of Adamstown, Md. Joyce Price and husband Jack of Dickerson, Md. Brother Doyle Rambo and wife Helen of Tularosa NM. Sister I n- law Gay Rambo of Rural Retreat, Va. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Guy Rambo Arthur Phillips Arvel Rambo, sisters Fannie Stamper, Dora Hurley Gladys Testerman Goldie Bishop, three son-in-laws Sverre Michelsen, Dean Beitzel, Jim Miller and granddaughter Amanda Sermon.

Visitation will be 7 to 9pm on Sunday March 3, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will be Monday March 4, 2013 11 am at Living Word Bible Fellowship (Dawsonville Mennonite Church) 16500 White's Ferry Rd. Poolesville, Md.

Visitation in Virginia Tues March 5, 2013 7 to 9at Bradley's Funeral Chapel 307 Old Stage Rd. Chilhowie Va. Memorial service ,Wednesday March 6, at 11 am.

Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Chilhowie, Va.
