RICHARD A BOBBITT
Richard Allen Bobbitt, 65, of East
Palatka, passed away Tuesday, June
23, 2009, at Lakewood Nursing Center
in Crescent City following an extended
illness.

He was a native of Radford, Va.,
and moved to Putnam County in 1954,
coming from Virginia. He was a 1961
graduate of Palatka High School, where
he was an outstanding football player. He
also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Richard retired from Florida Power &
Light after 27 years of service as a
lineman. He had been a member of
the First Baptist Church of East
Palatka and years ago, Elks Lodge
BPOE 1232.

He is survived by his son, Richard
Allen Bobbitt II and wife, Laura of
Acworth, Ga.; stepson, Rick Keene of
Ocala; stepdaughter, Terri Lloyd and
husband, Mike of Hollister; brother,
Melvin "Butch" Bobbitt and wife, Gwen
of East Palatka; three grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Richard's wishes,
the family is planning no services.

As we had rented the Best Western and had Publix cater the event we decided to charge $10.00 to help cover the over $1000.00 Cost. We had 110 of Richards friends show up. AMAZING

basketball and track player, having lettered
in each sport four times. He also served in
the U.S. Marine Corps. As a Sgt,
Air Crew Chief in HMM-765, NAS, Atlanta.

Richard retired from Florida Power &
Light after 27 years of service as a
lineman. He had been a member of
the First Baptist Church of East
Palatka and years ago, Elks Lodge
BPOE 1232.

A Memorial/Wake/Gathering will be held
August 22, 2009 6:00 PM till at the
Best Western Inn of Palatka
119 Hwy 17 South
East Palatka, FL 32131
His friends are all invited, please

For details by Sunday August 16th as
Food will be provided.

In lieu of flowers the family requests
that memorial donations be made in
his memory to Haven Hospice Roberts
