Wilma "Dottie" (Eldridge) Lawson, 71, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 8, 1938, in Mt. Sterling, Ky. Dottie worked 12 years for American Crayon/Dixon Ticonderoga in Sandusky. After the birth of her first son, she spent her time and energy as a loving housewife and mother.
Dottie was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing and socializing with church members. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She loved vacationing, camping, long car rides, going to Cedar Point and singing in area senior facilities.
Mrs. Lawson is survived by her sons, Christopher D. (Sara) Lawson, Bellevue, and Todd C. (Shayri) Lawson, Sandusky; sisters, Helen Blevins, Sandusky, Margaret Koch, Phoenix, Ariz., Phyllis (Dewey) Caldwell, Castalia, and Sue Caldwell, Castalia; grandchildren, Noah Lawson, Grant Lawson, Madilynn Lawson and Logan Lawson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas C. Lawson, Nov. 3, 2001; parents, George and Louisa (Stull) Eldridge; sisters, Jean Dix and Zella Berryman; and brother, George "Bud" Eldridge.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will beat 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Jim Gregory. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
