MRS. REBECCA J. MESSMORE
"Mrs. Rebecca J. Messmore, widow of the late
A.G. Messmore, died at her home, 43 East
Penn Street Monday morning at 5:30, following
a lingering illness. She was a daughter of
the late Lewis and Margaret Knight, of
Luzerne township. She was born June 10,
1851, being in her 73rd year. Mrs. Messmore
had been an invalid from paralysis for nearly
nine years. She is survived by only one
daughter, Mrs. E. H. McCune, and five
grandchildren, Robert M., Flora M.,
Rowena B., Joseph C. and Nicholas H. McCune.
Funeral services Wednesday afternoon from
her late home at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev.
Donald Kent Johnson, St. Peter's Episcopal
church. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery."
