Richard Dewayne Hancock, 87, of Veedersburg, Indiana, passed away at 1:35 a.m. EST Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, in Woodland Manor Nursing Home at Attica, Indiana.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1925 to Jeffrey and Josephine Hancock. He married Margaret Louise Dice on May 10, 1944 in Covington. She passed away on June 30, 1995.
He is survived by a daughter, Marsha Smith; son-in-law, Curtis; grandsons, Patrick and Chad; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Allie, Caleb, Collin, Emory and Chandler Smith and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Dice.
He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines.
