Jackie Dean Irwin, age 80, a resident of Harrisburg, IL. passed away Tuesday February 26, 2013 in Fountainview Nursing Home.
Jackie was born on August 22, 1932, in Saline County to the late Roy C. and Beulah McDowell Irwin. He was a coal miner for Sahara Coal. On June 15, 1958, he married Donna Barger and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 brothers: Joe Bob and wife Janet Irwin of Harrisburg and Frank Irwin of Eldorado; 4 nieces: Julie and husband Brian Beal of Harrisburg; Tracy and husband Tom Dunaway of Eldorado; Anita and husband Martin Lowery of Kentucky; and Linda and husband Tom Beanblossom of Lawrenceville, IL 2 nephews: John Curry of Lawrenceville, IL; and Keith Oakley of Paducah, KY; several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Judy Stricklin; sister: Dorothy Boyd; sister: Lucille Shaffer; sister-in-law: Patty Irwin; brother-in-law: Jim Stricklin; nephew Jeff Irwin; and nephew: David Stricklin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Rev. Buddy Sork will officiate. Burial will follow in Pierson Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 to 11 AM, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Reed Funeral Chapel.
