Mr. Jacob Ferguson Lewis, Sr., 88, of 495 Chatmoss Court, Martinsville, VA, went to be with his Lord at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born in Pittsylvania County to the late Jeremiah and Bessie Ferguson Lewis.

He was was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Emily Gilley Lewis, two sisters Virginia L Spires and Jessee May Carter, four brothers William Herbert Lewis, John Herman Lewis, George Washington Lewis and Jeremiah Lewis, Jr.

Jacob and his wife Emily owned and operated Yeatts Nursery for 40 years. He was a member of Mount Olivet Christian Church, A charter member of Mount Olivet Ruritan Club, past member of Virginia Nurseryman's Association and Southern Nurseryman's Association.

Survivors are daughter Elizabeth L Lee and her husband Bob Lee of Lenoir, NC, two sons, Jacob ( Jay) F Lewis, Jr. and his wife Kay Lewis of Martinsville, VA and David Clark Lewis and his wife Carolyn Lewis of Pittsboro NC, a sister Ruby L Dillon of Eden, NC and a brother James Poet Lewis of Cascade, VA, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were conducted at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with Minister Tim Mills officiating. Entombment was at Roselawn Burial Park.
