A. Logan Worthen was born in Ava in 1887 and lived in Jackson County all his life. His siblings include Mrs. Martha Casey of East. St. Louis.

Worthen was married in 1906 to the former Dora Rednour, who survives. His children include Mrs. Ruby Bryan of Murphysboro, Mrs. Beatrice Ott of Cairo and a son who preceded him in death.

Mr. Worthen was a retired water service foreman on the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Centenary Methodist Church, the Brotherhood of Maintenance Waymen, and Masonic Lodge 657 of Grand Tower.

Mr. Worthen died at the age of 70 in St. Andrew's Hospital in Murphysboro after a long illness.
