Dorothy L. Highland was born December 25, 1920 in Bush, the daughter of Albert and Rowena (Alexander) Petty. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Billy Joe Petty, and three sisters, Florence Stewart, Katherine Petty and Imogene Keifer.
She married Lewis R. Highland on August 31, 1942; he passed away January 2, 1976. She leaves one son, Gary A. Highland of Carbondale. One son, Lewis R. Highland Jr. preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family, many neighbors and friends, cooking, and her numerous pets. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Highland died at the age of 82 in Carbondale.
