Naomi D. Anderson was born January 19, 1912 in Carbondale, the daughter of John and Mallie (Rowden) Deming. Her siblings include Kathryn Moran of Carbondale, as well as three brothers -- Bert, Paul and Monroe Deming -- who preceded her in death.

She married Yuel Samuel Anderson on May 2, 1936, in Carbondale. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1985. She leaves one daughter, Linda Sue Hunter, of Makanda.

She was a seamstress at the glove factory, and after her retirement, sold Avon for more than 20 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Anderson died at the age of 93 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
