Gwendolyn Martin Draper, age 79, of Dahlonega, Ga., died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born to the late Walter Kermit and Oneita S Martin, February 28, 1933, in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Sandy Springs outside of Atlanta. She married the late William Linn Draper, Sr. on September 5th, 1952. They lived together in Doraville and Dunwoody, Georgia while raising their children, before relocating to Dahlonega, Georgia to retire. Having deep Georgia roots, Gwendolyn, had a life-long interest in researching her American Indian heritage and family genealogy. She was a woman of strong Christian faith who was deeply devoted to her husband, children and family. Caring for her family was her life-long passion. Gwendolyn is survived by three children and two grandchildren; son, William L Draper Jr, and daughter-in-law, Barbara W. Draper of Brookhaven, Georgia; Daughter, Martha Draper Passman and son-in-law, Paul F. Passman of Dahlonega, Georgia; Daughter, Sarah L Draper of Decatur, Georgia; Grandsons, William Charles Passman and John Draper Passman of Dahlonega. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to: Crossroads Hospice, 1957 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 500, Tucker, Georgia 30084 or the charity of your choice in her memory. A viewing will be at Sandy Springs Chapel on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service to be held at 11:30 a.m. in Arlington Memorial Park.
