Samuel "Lil Bro" Herring, 51, died on February 22, 2013 at a local hospital.
He was born on May 20, 1961, to James and Olene Herring.
He accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Olivet Baptist Church in 2012. Samuel attended Riverside High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sanford and Mary Herring and Ellis and Rosa Chapman.
He is survived by a son, Tarvaros (Arie) Herring; granddaughter, Jariah Herring; grandson, Tarvaros Herring, Jr., all of Chattanooga, TN; his parents, James D. and Olene Herring of Chattanooga, TN; brother, James Ronald Herring of Hollywood, FL; sister, Rosemary Herring of Chattanooga, TN; brother, Jeffery Herring of Chattanooga, TN; special nieces, Khamesha Herring of Chattanooga, TN, and Charnese (Hanson) Hunter of Antioch, TN; best friend and mother of son, Angela Truss of Chattanooga, TN; a special friend, Irene Gooch of Murfreesboro, TN, and an uncle; a host of aunts, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Olivet Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, Chattanooga, TN.
