Vernon H. "Vern" Sutton, Jr., 49, a resident of Cleveland, TN, departed his earthly home and entered his heavenly home on February 20, 2013, in a local hospital.
Vern was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill and Gladys Huff and Frank and Marie Sutton, and father-in-law, Bobby Cross.
Vern attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church of Cleveland, TN. He grew up in Ooltewah, TN and moved to the Cleveland, TN area when he married in 1990.
He worked at Super Saver Grocery later named Fresh and Low in Cleveland. He enjoyed life, his family, and his co-workers. Vern also enjoyed bowling, antique cars and loved his grandchildren very much.
Survivors include his true and loving wife and wonderful friend, Rhonda Sutton, sons, Jonathan Sutton of Cleveland, TN, Chris Shields and his wife Chara of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Clyde, Cayci and Adalyn; parents, Glenna Brogan and her husband Ed of Ooltewah, TN and Vernon Sutton, Sr. and his wife Cindy of Ooltewah, TN; brothers, Greg Sutton and his wife Lynn and Scott Sutton and his wife Tracie all of Ooltewah, TN and his sister, Sonya Houchin of Cleveland, TN; mother-in-law, Joyce Fowler, and her husband, Bobby of Ocoee, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will conducted on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Beecher White officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
