Alfred Landon Megill was the son of Edward Landon and Amelia (Hart) Megill. He attended Froebel Academy, was a member of the class of 1903 from Poly Prep and attended Polytechnic Collegiate Institute, all in Brooklyn. He ran the Edward L. Megill Company founded by his father, from 1923 until 1969. He received a Declaration of Commendation from Mayor John Lindsey as a worthy participant in New York City's diverse and expanding economy in 1969.
