Jeanne Ramsey, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at Garden Side Crossing, North Central Health Care Center under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1924, the daughter of Lillis and Grace (Billeter) Hill in St. Joseph, MO. Jeanne graduated from Kalamazoo College in 1947 and married Richard L. Ramsey on April 3, 1948 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was member of the American Legion Auxiliary and supported many charities.
She was employed by Aspirus Wausau Hospital as a medical technologist for 30 years. Jeanne enjoyed spending time in her backyard with her flowers and birds as well being an avid golfer and card player. Jeanne loved to travel with family and friends however Jeanne's most treasured moments were spent with her children and grandchildren.
Jeanne is survived by daughters, Carol (Craig) Shirley, Shoreview, MN, Beverly (Richard) Hesby, Ankeny, IA, and Peggy (Garland) Nelson, Wausau, WI; six grandchildren, Erik (Laura Nace) Shirley, Joel (Crystal) Shirley, Nick (Jenny) Nelson, Pam Nelson, Maggie Hesby, and Christine Hesby; three great-grandchildren, Karah Shirley, Brayden Shirley, and Eli Nelson; one brother, Thomas Hill of Kalamazoo, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Richard; two brothers, Bill and Bob Hill; and sisters, Margaret Hill, Dorothy Reilly, and Shirley Byrne.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at St. Michael Parish, 611 Stark St., Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau
