Suggested edit: Last child (third son) of Merle McCreight Motter, Sr., and Raye Belle (Walker) Motter Bates. All three of their sons are buried in Grandview, as is mother Raye Belle, with her second husband's family. (Sister Zeda Motter is buried in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Berlin, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Merle and Raye Belle were divorced prior to 1930. Raye Belle (Walker) Motter married the widower Jesse Bates in the fall of 1940.
