WYTHEVILLE, Va.-Paul Dwain Shepherd, age 79, passed away surrounded by his family Feb. 22, 2013. He was the son of the late Ancil and Ruth Hayes Shepherd, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Cross Roads Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Mae Shepherd; sister, Peggy Shepherd; and brother, Bill Shepherd. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia D. and Kevin Torreyson of Maryland; son and daughter-in-law, Paul "Doug" and Amber Shepherd of Ft. Chiswell, Va.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Richardson of Tennessee and Freida and Ralph Keene, and Frances and Eugene Anderson, all of Abingdon, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Cynthia Shepherd of North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael Torreyson of West Virginia and Shelly and Lt. Daren Reinke of Maryland; and great-grandchildren, Shayna Torreyson, Rose Torreyson, Tresten Reinke and Autumn Reinke. A memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 6 p.m. in The Cross Roads Church of Christ, conducted by Preacher Greg Dill. Inurnment as held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, Va. Family received friends at the Church Monday from 5 until service time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association , P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
