Ordained to the ministry in 1898, Dr. Parsons was a pastor for 43 years, retiring in 1941, because of ill health. He was superintendent of the conference from 1921 until 1935.
Dr. Parsons served as pastor of Riverside E. U. B. Church from 1905 until 1907, and in addition was minister of the Selma and Daleville charges. He was also engaged in home missions work for six years in Oregon.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ada Parsons; three sons, J. Maurice Parsons, Dr. Robert Parsons, and Dr. Carl Parsons; and two daughters, Mrs. Forest A. Reed, and Mrs. Esther Topping.
