Wife of Cyrus Bloodgood. The following obituary is from The "Athens Gazette", Thursday, June 25,1895. "Mrs. Catherine Bloodgood, wife of Cyrus Bloodgood, of Waverly, died on Saturday at the age of eighty-six years. Mrs. Bloodgood was one of the oldest residents of Waverly, having lived in about that place for over sixty years past. She was born in Broome, Schoharie county, marrying Mr. Bloodgood at the age of nineteen years. They moved to Litchfield, Pa., and later to Van Etten, coming to Waverly about three years ago. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church. She leaves besides her husband six son's, Wylie, of White Water, Wisc.: Julius, of Ottawa, Kan.: Jason, of California: Hiram and Joseph,of Harvey, Ill., and John of Waverly" This obituary is from the files of the Bradford County Historical Society.
A second obituary courtesy of http://www.joycetice/clippings reads:Died Waverly- Died on Sunday, in the eight-sixth year of her age. Mrs. Caty Ann Bloodgood, at the home of her daughter Mrs. A. R. Whitley, on Waverly Street. Mrs. Bloodgood was almost a life long resident of this section, but came to Waverly, only about three years ago. She was an estimable lady, highly thought of by her acquaintances. She was a member of the Methodist Church. The Rev. C. M. Surdam conducted the funeral which was held at 10 a.m. yesterday from the Whitley residence on Waverly Street. Besides her husband, the Rev. Cyrus Bloodgood, she leaves six sons, Julius of Kansas; Jason of California; Wiley of Wisconsin; Hiram and J.C. Bloodgood of Illinois; Jonh D. of Waverly and three daughters, Mrs. Fairchild, of Kansas; Mrs. VanDuzer, of Nebraska; and Mrs. _ R. Whitley of Waverly.
