ROBERTSON Jesse Robertson, Jr., age 90, a lifetime resident of Bayou La Batre was peacefully called home to be with our Lord surrounded by his wife and daughter, on Monday, February 25, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Lillie Robertson; brothers, Ralston and Francis Robertson; sister, Catherine Dolan. He served in the United States Coast Guard after graduating high school. Jesse enjoyed a long career where he was a manager for Linesman. He served as a city councilman for the City of Bayou La Batre in the 1960's. He attended First Evangelical Methodist Church and also served on the Board of Stewards and Board of Trustees. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Zelda Robertson; daughter Nancy (Don) Keeffe; grandson, Michael Keeffe; granddaughter, Beverly (Ron) Goode; great granddaughter, Makayla Goode, 3 sisters; Betty Murphy, Faye Schwind, and Gloria (Bobby) Steiner, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2 pm from First Evangelical Methodist Church, 11329 Padgett Switch Rd. Irvington, AL 36544 (251)824-2454 with visitation from 12 noon until service time. Interment, with full Military Honors rendered by American Legion Post 250, will follow in Oddfellow Cemetery. The family would like to thank Mellissa Murphy, Saad's Home Health, and the Bayou La Batre Volunteer Fire Department. The worst part of memories is not the pain. It is the loneliness of it. Memories need to be shared. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association in his name.
