Clinton MO, Apr 21 1904 - Thursday, April 14, at 11 p.m., John Oskins breathed his last at his home seven miles northeast of Clinton, from pneumonia following an attack of grip. He was born in White county, Ark. and was 54. His wife died three years ago last February. He moved to Illinois at 15 and came to Missouri in 1868. Four children survive - Mrs. Carrie Cochrane, who kept house for her father; Wm. Oskins, Deer Creek; Thomas Oskins, near Bethlehem, and Joe Oskins at home. One sister Mrs. John Bozarth, lives on East Franklin street. It will be remembered that the deceased had a brother Joe, killed by lightning in Bethlehem township, exactly three years ago on the day he died. (CC note: his brother was killed on Mar 12 1901) Funeral at the home. He had been a professing Christian since he was 18. Burial at Bozarth Cemetery.
