Sarah Jane Tice was born in New York State, February 21, 1844. Her parents moved to Concord, Wis., in Jefferson couty, where she spent her childhood days. In 1864 she was married to George M. Bredahl at Menomonie, Wis. They moved to Pierce county in 1868 and settled on a farm in River Falls township. Their farm was a wilderness and Mrs. Bredahl helped her husband with the clearing of the land andin the building of the log home, which is still standing. They lived on this farm until the death of Mr. Bredahl November 7, 1908, after which she moved to River Falls where she lived until her death, making her a resident of this vicinity nearly 70 years. She was a member of the Woman's Relief Corps.
The history of such a life as Mrs. Bredahl lived is not filled with exciting incidents - girlhood, courtship, marriage, motherhood, death - these are the great experiences of such a life and we know she had the courage of the valient for she met death unafraid, uncoplaining, thougtful to the last moment for those who would mourn and miss her. Kindness was a characteristic of Mrs. Bredahl. There is probably no one among those who knew her well who cannot recall some kindly word of praise.
She is survide by two sisters, Mrs. Ella Budd, Sandpoint, Idaho, Mrs. Lauresa Evans, Spokane, Wash., one daughter, Mrs. Ella Elliot of River Falls, and four sons, Julius S., Minneapolis, Minn., John Edward, Beldenville, Ross, River Falls, and George Martin, Elmwood; 16 grandchildren. Her husband and two daughters and a son preceded her in death.
Funeral sevices were held from the Lutheran church Friday at two o'clock, Rev. Arthur Johnson officiating, Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
