Mrs. Laura Cox Love, 81 of Corsicana, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Navarro Regional Hospital.

She was born Aug. 7, 1930, in Hempstead, to Rosalie and Atwell Cox. She was a graduate of Corsicana High School, after which she attended Ward Belmont College before graduating from Southern Methodist University.

She loved Corsicana and gave back to her community in many ways. Laura was active in the First United Methodist Church, Quintilian, Daughters of the American Revolution, Child Evangelism Fellowship, and Food for Fitness. Laura was also an active member of United Methodist Women.
Laura had a zest for life and she laughed easily. Laura loved to travel and saw many wonderful places throughout the world. She cherished her lifelong friends with whom she spent many hours, both traveling and at home. Laura was devoted foremost to her family whom she loved with fervor. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Love; and parents, Atwell and Rosalie Cox.

Survivors include her sons, John Daniel Goins Jr. of Houston, and Atwell Cox Goins and wife Lesa of Corsicana; grandsons, Atwell Cox Goins Jr. and wife Amanda Godbois Goins of Mustang, Okla., and Andrew Clayton Goins of College Station.

Visitation with the family was 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bob McNutt, Bobby Rolston, Brent Sharpley, John Taylor, Homero Torralva, and Steve Wilkinson.

Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Lang, Jimmy Dyer, Hugh King, Leslie Kelton, J. D. Sheppard and Don Dunbar.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church at 320 N. 15th St., Corsicana, TX 75110.
