Rites Held For Shooting Victim
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Millerton for Hiram E. McFarland, 49, who was fatally shot Christmas morning. Rev. Orville manning officiated and burial was in Wheelock cemetery.
Born September 27, 1909 in Millerton, where he spent his entire life. He was owner and operator of a grocery store at Millerton.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Hiram E. McFarland, Jr., and John Thomas McFarland, both of Millerton; one step-son, M-Sgt. Jerry Taylor, Hamilton Air Force Base, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. R. D. Brown, Independence, Mo., Mrs. Bruce Ramsey and Mrs. Robert Young, both of Millerton; one brother, John W. McFarland, Tulsa; one step-grandchild, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McFarland, Millerton.
