Orville Lee Gibson Jr., 57, of Accoville, went on to a better life Saturday, February 23, 2013, in Pikeville, Ky.
Born June 25, 1955, in Logan, he was a son of the late Orville Lee Sr., and Delorse Withrow Gibson.
Orville was a 1973 graduate of Man High School and a disabled coal miner.
Also preceding him in death were three special nieces, Amy Bryant, Tamra Gilco and Crickett McDaniels, two special nephews, Gregory Elkins and David Wyatt, his step-father, Percy Kilgore, and a sister-in-law, Linda Adkins.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia Bryant Gibson, daughter, Anita Gibson of Logan, son, Guy Anthony (Malinda) Gibson of Accoville, three sisters, Gloria Gilco and Liz McDaniels,, both of Accoville, and Wanda (Teddy) Bragg of Huntington, father and mother-in-law, Guy and Anita Bryant, a very special granddaughter, Ashton Gibson; two special grandsons, Jacob Gibson and Jeremiah Gibson, two special sisters-in-law, Mary (Kenny) Linville of Combs Addition, and Debbie (Chuck) Barnett of Chesapeake, VA., two special brothers-in-law, James (Tammy) Bryant of Davin and Tony (Sherry) Bryant of St. Albans, special friends, Charles (June) Brumfield of Claypool and Debbie (Bill) Owens, and a host of other loving family and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Accoville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Johnny Hatfield and Rev. Norman Harvey officiating. He will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Friends may gather with the family from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Linville, Aaron Frazier, Kevin Eleom, Chris Adkins, and Freddy Adkins.
