Sara Elizabeth Haskins Chaney, 87, of Loudon, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Loudon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie J. Chaney. Mrs. Chaney is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Chaney-Thompson and husband, Lee, of Oak Ridge; a stepgranddaughter, Jeanne Mitchell and husband, Johnny, of the Karnes community; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Polly White of York, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Alma Farmer of Etowah; and a niece and nephew, JoAnn Whillock of Knoxville and Bobby White of York, both who she considered special. A graveside service was to be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at Loudon County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Johnny Mitchell, Don Bolton, Richard Whillock, Chris Whillock, Charlie Braswell and Perry Purdy, will serve as pallbearers. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Continuum Court Yards of Oak Ridge, 209 Gum Hollow Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. McGill-Karnes Funeral Home in Loudon is in charge of arrangements.
