Jeanette F. Svoboda, 70, of Granite City, Ill., born Jan. 22, 1943, in Granite City, Ill. passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at St. John Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
The life time mother, wife and grandmother grew up in Venice, Ill., and was a former member of St. Mark's Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her unique sense of humor and the many good times shared with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaspare and Anna, nee Mangiaracno, Cicio; and a brother, Bernard Cicio.
She is survived by and will be missed by her husband, Charles R. Svoboda Jr., whom she married on Oct. 2, 1965; two daughters, Pamela Dean and Greg "Sully" Sullivan of Granite City, Ill., Lisa (John) Davis of Wood River, Ill.; son, Richard C. Svoboda of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren, Brett M. Dean of Granite City, Ill., Anthony C. Dean of Granite City, Ill., Samuel D. Dean of Granite City, Ill.; a great-grandchild, Griffin D. Davis of Edwardsville, Ill.; a brother, Gerald D. (Beverly) Cicio of Granite City, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Carol (Gene) Robertson.
Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
