Mrs. Bonney's maiden name was Flannigan. Her first marriage was to John Fisher, a progressive farmer of this county, who passed away in 1881. To this union were born five children, two of whom survive, John Fisher of Chicago and Mrs. G. W. Harvey, nee Fannie Fisher, of Buffalo, N. Y.
About five years after the death of Mr. Fisher the widow moved to Oregon where she met and married Mr. Bonney. He died about fourteen years ago.
She returned to her old home after his death and made the last visit to her relatives and friends, when from here she went to her daughter and had made a home with her to the time of her death. There are also eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, besides three step-children, Mrs. R. A. Steele of this city, Mrs. J. F. Hemphill of Indianapolis, and Frank Fisher, living in the west, who mourn her death.
She was, through life, a devoted member of the Christian church, being a strong supporter for years of the Pleasant ridge church. Her bible was her main dependence in her declining years and her trials were borne with Christian meekness.
She was known far and wide for her generous hospitality and no visitor ever went away from "the old Fisher home" without feasting at their bountifully supplied table--Rising Sun, Ind., Recorder, Nov. 21.
