Widow of Editor Dies at Lake City

Lake City---Mrs. A. E. Roese, (nee Elizabeth Bowers), died Thursday,evening Aug. 29, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Nellie Holstrom, on North High street, where she recently moved and expected to make her home.

Mrs. Roese was born at Maiden Rock, Wis., April 20, 1871. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bowers. She was married to Alfred Roese on Jan. 19, 1889, and lived in Maiden Rock, where Mr. Roese started the Maiden Rock Press and later edited the River Falls Times. He died May 16, 1920, at River Falls.

The deceased is survived by two children, Harry E. Roese, athletic coach at the West Technical high school in Cleveland, Ohio, and Miss Nellie C. Roese, teacher of physical education at Monroe, Wis.. She also is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Dr. H. E. Bowers and Mrs. Nellie Holstrom, Lake City, Dr. J. T. Bowers, Thief River Falls, Minn., and Mrs. Richard Hagg, River Falls, Wis..

Funeral services were held at the old home at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31. Rev. O. F. Moede officiating. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery, River Falls.
