McKinley "Buddy" McCoy was the son of Oscar and Nanie Hunter McCoy, and grandson of Roscoe and Cordelia Hunter McCoy. His siblings were Alice Mae, Dorothy, Ruth, Tracy, and Ellie Cordelia. He was married to Rosetta Young, daughter of Willie and Jane Spears Young. Their children were Brenda Sue, Oscar Timothy, Tammy Lynn, William McKinley, and James Wendell.McKinley "Buddy" McCoy

Visitation: Visitation will be at the Apple Orchard Old Regular Baptist Church after 6p.m. Friday, with evening services Saturday at 7p.m.
Funeral Service: Funeral services will be 1:00p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Apple Orchard Old Regular Baptist Church with Richard Staton, Paul Maynard, Dale Williamson and others officiating.
Interment: Burial will follow in the Oscar McCoy Cemetery at Brushy, Kentucky.


McKinley "Buddy" McCoy, age 71, of Brushy, passed away, Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

He was a retired Logger and heavy equipment operator and a member of the Full Gospel Church of God at Lancer, Kentucky.

He was born in Pike County, Kentucky on May 21, 1937 the son of the late Oscar and Nannie Hunter McCoy.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by one infant son and one sister, Ruth Hackworth and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Rozetta Young McCoy and three sons, Tim McCoy and his wife, Jackie of Brushy, William McKinley McCoy and his wife, Teresa of Dry Branch and James McCoy and his wife, Dolli of Brushy and two daughters, Brenda Sue Burchett of Brushy and Tamelia Lynn Spears and her husband, James of Auxier.

One brother, Tracy McCoy of Brushy and three sisters, Alice Clay of Prestonsburg, Dorothy Nichols of Lorain, Ohio and Ella Francis of Brushy. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Justin Spears, Josh Burchett, Wayne McCoy, Alex Kidd, Mike White, Michael Burke, Joe Boyd, Isaiah McCoy, Matt Baldridge and Phillip Adams.
