Our father, husband, brother, son and friend, James Harold Fox (Jim), died suddenly of a heart attack on February 18, 1993 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jim was 42 years old on Valentine's Day.
He was born in Salt Lake City, on February 14, 1951. His parents, Harold L. and Lucy Grant Fox (deceased 1968), were with the U.S. Air Force and Jim lived at various times in England, Germany, Nebraska, California and Utah.
Jim married Pamela Neff in 1971 and had three children: Robert James, Cindy and Timothy Paul, all living in Salt Lake City. Jim married Carla Eckstrom on August 1, 1986, in Evanston, Wyoming. Carla lives in Salt Lake City. Other survivors include Jim's parents, "Hal" and Joyce Fox; and his sister Nancy Jane Webb, all from Salt Lake area.
Being a strong athletic type, Jim spent most of his career in construction, trucking and the petroleum industry. Recently he enrolled at the Salt Lake Community College to study Business Management. He would have received an Associate Degree in March, maintaining a 3.8 gpa.
Those of us whom he left prematurely have great love and respect for Jim and pride in his achievements.
Funeral services will be held in the East Mill Creek 11th Ward, 2702 E. Evergreen Ave. (3425 S.), on Monday, February 22, at 1 pm. A viewing will be held at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 S.2300 E., from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday and at the ward on Monday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
