Allrights reserved.Mary Golden Stump1910-2002Mary Golden Stump of St. Louis died Aug. 27 in St. Louis.She was born Oct. 20, 1910, at Elkader, Iowa, the daughter of the lateHarry Llewellyn Griffith and Abbie Helen Grannis Griffith."Goldie," as she was affectionately known by her family and many friends,is survived by a brother, Harold Griffith of Elkader, Iowa; sons Craig Llewellyn Stump and his wife Faith of Ridgecrest, Calif., Dr. Donald V.Stump and his wife Dr. Eleonore Stump of St. Louis, and Lori (Mrs. Kenneth) Hess of Montana, widow of Gene Stump; grandchildren, Leslie Alison True and husband Randy True of Cheyenne, Cindy LynelleDaughtery and husband Michael Daugherty of Cheyenne, Michael RobertStump and wife, Elizabeth Ann of Castor Valley, Calif., Aaron, Nathan and Monica Stump of St. Louis, and Joshua Stump of Montana; great-grandchildren, Savannah Rose Clayton of Cheyenne, Daniel Llewellyn andDierdre Ann Daugherty of Cheyenne, and Edward William Stump ofCastro Valley, Calif.Mary Golden was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert ByronStump, whom she married Sept. 5, 1936; one son, Eugene Stump;brothers Homer and David Griffith; and a sister, Helen.Mary Golden and her late husband were long-time residents of Cheyenne,residing here during the 1950s and 1960s before retiring to Sun City, Ariz.Following Dr. Stumps' death at Sun City on Sept. 7, 1984, she moved to reside close to her son Donald Stump and his family.She died peacefully in her sleep at age 91, having received theSacraments of the Church and having enjoyed the love and companionship of many in her family who gathered around her in her finaldays.Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 4 at St. Francis Xavier College Church, Grand Boulevard at Lindell in St. Louis.Interment took place at Park Lawn Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Center for EarlyChildhood Development, 3901 Russell, St. Louis, MO 63110.
