Funeral services for Maynard W. Shughart, 80, of 5 Middleton Ave., South Middleton Township, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church, 2135 Ritner Highway, Carlisle.

He died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999 in Carlisle Hospital.

Born Sept. 4, 1918 in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Bixler N. and Elsie C. Nailor Shughart and resided most of his life in the Carlisle area.

A retired employee of AMP Inc., Carlisle, with 17 years of service, he also had worked at Carlisle Tire and Wheel Co. in Carlisle.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Men and Women's Bible Class.

Mr. Shughart is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma M. Keck Shughart; two daughters, Vonny L. Bailey and Beverly S. Lehman, both of Carlisle; two brothers, Glenn H. of West Hill and Lester E. of Shippensburg; a sister, Pauline E. Shughart of Plainfield; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin J. and Clair H.; and two sisters, Anna R. Shughart and Thelma P. Reeder.

The Rev. William E. Pipp will officiate at services. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.
